My name is Deb Hazlewood and, as design leadership professional, I’m passionate about using the creativity and rigour of UX strategy and practice to bring outstanding experiences to life.

From my home base in the greater Toronto area, I've had the good fortune to practice in this line of craft for over 20 years.

THE BUSINESS OF CHANGE

It's been said that the ongoing value of design can be expressed in its ability to drive change, and I believe that. I also believe in applying a discover, experiment and learn mindset to help set the stage for successful changes, both large and small.

There's joy in the opportunity to make a real difference in customers' lives, to coach and position design and research teams to reach tangible outcomes worth celebrating, to uncover clear wins and hidden gems, and to be a part of that energizing climate of shared learning along the way.

THE PAST AND THE FUTURE

The name Encompass Design has always hinted at the multiple lenses and pieces that come together to create an exceptional experience.

From its start as a full-service agency to its current life as my limited consultancy practice, the name still stands as a reminder to look a little deeper, think a little broader, and encompass all the elements that can make a user experience unique and successful.
